Until November 2024, no special qualifications or guarantees to clients were required to work as a real estate agent in Mallorca. In 2024, a new regulation was passed and all real estate agents operating in Mallorca had to register by November 2024 in order to continue operating legally. This regulation aims to protect clients (both sellers and buyers) and ensure the professional conduct and security of real estate transactions. Below we inform you about our registration and legal details of the company, as well as our insurance and other legal obligations that the registrar requires to ensure professional conduct in the real estate sector in our region and to ensure the greatest possible protection for buyers and sellers operating in the real estate market.

Registration as a real estate agent in the Registro de Agentes Inmobiliarios de las Islas Baleares requires that all agents accredit the following:

– Provide training on how to access the registry and annual updates to that training to ensure agents are up to date with regulations. – Have a publicly accessible facility with the appropriate permits, licenses and tax registrations. – Have insurance that guarantees customer deposits with a minimum amount of 60,000 euros. – Take out professional indemnity insurance that covers liability arising from professional negligence up to a minimum of €600,000.
