Properties in the southwest of Mallorca

In the south-western part of Mallorca you have summarized the best of the island in a very small space: The wonderful sandy beaches, the cultural treasures of the capital Palma de Mallorca, the wonderful mountain landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana, the western cliffs with their breathtaking views and of course the most diverse leisure opportunities on the island.

Portals Nous, the holiday resort of the rich and famous, has a glamorous glamor. Snow-white yachts are anchored here in Puerto Portals, gourmet restaurants are lined up and exquisite clubs invite you to relax and celebrate. The same applies to Cala Major, where the summer residence of the Spanish royal family and the foundation and museum in honor of the Mallorcan painter Joan Miró are located.

There are numerous tourist resorts such as Santa Ponsa, Peguera, Magaluf and Illetes, which offer everything a vacationer’s heart desires in terms of restaurants, bars, shops and other amenities – including the large sandy beaches, which are ideal for extensive sunbathing and splashing around.

But also villages with original Mallorcan charm can be found in the southwestern part of Mallorca. Examples are the picturesque mountain villages of Banyalbufar and Estellencs, which are surrounded by impressive terraced fields dating from the time of the Moors. They are close together and are ideal starting points for hiking trips in the Serra de Tramuntana. Finally, the town of Antratx with its Castillo Son Mas, the parish church of Santa Maria and the ruined monastery of La Trapa is also worth seeing. In addition, extensive orange and almond trees surround the place, which is why Antratx is a popular holiday destination, especially in spring when the almond blossom.

The highlight of every trip to Mallorca is of course a walk through the alley labyrinth of the historic old town of Palma de Mallorca. The S’Almudaina palace, built in the Moorish style, the Castell de Bellver, the former maritime trade exchange Llotja dels Mercaders and the Gothic cathedral La Seu are just some of the outstanding sights of the island’s capital. Meanwhile, shopping streets such as Paseo des Born or Paseo de la Rambla as well as the numerous pubs, bars and discos along Playa de Palma show the joie de vivre of the modern city.

leisure

As a wild and romantic hiking paradise, you will experience Mallorca especially around Andratx and Sant Elm, which is also known under the name of San Telmo. Golf enthusiasts can choose from more than seven golf courses, including Son Gual Golf, Arabella Golf Son Muntaner, Golf de Andratx as well as Golf Park Puntiró and Santa Ponça I. Divers discover a fascinating underwater world, especially off the peninsula of La Mola and the island of Sa Dragonera with reefs, caves, canyon landscapes and wrecks. Finally, there are other exciting leisure activities to choose from, such as sailing, windsurfing, tennis, cycling, horse riding and many other sports.

Thanks to the airport in Palma you can reach your destination within a few hours, regardless of whether your heart beats for trendy beach parties or for the tranquility and beauty of the Mallorcan nature. The very good local transport connections also guarantee that you can get to know several facets and highlights of the popular holiday region at the same time. The range of hotels and holiday apartments is also broad. From the luxury hotel in the center of Palma de Mallorca to the traditional finca in the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana, there is suitable accommodation for every taste.

beaches

All of the above-mentioned holiday resorts have golden-yellow sandy beaches. However, the lively Platja de Palma, lined with beach clubs, bars and restaurants, the fine sandy, almost white Platja de Can Pere Antoni and of course the enchanting Cala Major, which has an impressive rocky beach as well as a sandy beach, leave a lasting impression.

The Caló des Monjo, Cala Falco and the nearby beaches of Platja de Portals Vells, Platja del Mago and Platja del Rei, which are not lined by hotel facades but by picturesque pine forests, are still idyllic beach beauties.
